Can a Shih Tzu give birth to Poodles???

Recently, I was browsing over my multiply account and I stumlbed upon the account of the new owners of Sexy’s puppies. They both look as gorgeous as my Sexy. Schatzi (on the lower left; male) was the youngest of the four litters, while Sophie (on the lower right; female) was the eldest. They both had their summer cut, hence, the poodle look. hehe! But don’t get fooled, they are shih tzus…^_^.

Btw, Sexy (center) is now preggy again. She is scheduled to give birth on May 9-11. So to all of those waiting for her puppies…get ready. hehehe! This new set of litter has 16 red marks. So expect the price to be reasonably higher as well.

The stud was from Yaki (USA) of Benny Chua. Yaki has 24 redmarks, sired by hall of fame yaki chins god of love, and dam is phil champ kee-lees just for yaki(USA). So expect the new set of litter to be great. The new set of puppies will be for release by mid to end of June. Message me for reservations and other inquiries.

Something to thank Him for…

The past few days have been super super stressing for me on almost all ends of my life. School cramming since finals is a month away and all teachers are scheduling special or make-up classes to cover the required readings and lessons for the exam. Work is fully-loaded on trying to reach the goal. Brother bugging on celphone line. Pray and support on Bebe’s job training. And many other concerns to deal with. But a recent event wiped off all the stress.

My application for scholarship was granted! (on the condition that I maintain a QPI of not lower than 82%; note: 85% qualifies for dean’s list…so it is a challenge) The scholarship grant was partial, but that still means a lot to me.

I’ve been applying for scholarship since college and God knows how hard it is to accomplish the forms, on top of the regular school load that I had to attend to. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting that this application will be granted, since I’m used to being rejected with my applications at the Loyola school because of my dad’s income tax return (ITR). But as the saying goes, ‘never say die’….’try and try until you die’…I tried my luck last semester and applied for a scholarship (using my own ITR, since I support my own studies and since dad has retired). And to my surprise, I got the approval of my application yesterday.

This only shows the power of prayer, patience, and of God. So for those who so want something in their life, don’t lose hope…He’s just waiting for the perfect time. And don’t be afraid to try! Be patient and bug Him every now and then with what you’re praying for. (Marunong din ciang makulitan..hehe)

As closing, I’ll share the Memorare prayer to the Immaculate Mother. This prayer has been my comfort prayer and refuge in times of distress. I recite this every after personal prayer until I memorized it. Here it goes:

Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known, that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, and sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I hasten to you O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the world incarnate, do not despise my petition, but in your mercy (Lord), hear and answer me. Amen.

It’s been a while…

stress.jpgYesterday, I had my last exam for the midterms…whew! The past few days (or should I say weeks), was really tough for me. I would wake up at around 3am to be at the office by 4am…so that I can leave the office by 1pm (after 9 working hours, including the break), to go directly to school for a 3:00 exam. The brain-excruciating exam would last for around 2 hours, and I would normally arrive home by 6:30 to 7:00 pm. Eat, chill, and sleep to wake up by 3:00 am for the next day of work and another exam.

Most people who knew about my schedule and what I’ve been doing with my life is left at an awe, with how I balance everything (work, law school, family, and, of course, love life). And I would often say, ‘well, that’s life…I have no choice!’. But the truth is that I do have a choice…and I chose this life…I am happy (period).

Yesterday, on the way home, a classmate of mine shared a thought, raised to him by the HR who interviewed him for a supposed job. He says, “if a rabbit keeps on chasing two carrots at the same time, it will definitely end up either losing one or, worse, losing both”. And I agree with him…everything has its own limits. We can only push ourselves as far. But the more that I realize now how blessed I am.

When I started studying, almost half of our class are working students and now rhere are only 3 of us in the class. I should say that being able to survive working and studying up to now is already an achievement. On top of that, together with the hell week for the midterms, I received a shower of blessings. To mention a few, I got promoted, got to meet the big bosses from US (this has changed a lot of things, hopefully all for the better), first set of exams went well, and there are also a lot of blessings for some dear friends and loved ones getting to spread their wings to fly a greater scope in life, and so many other things. These blessings, together with faith and my loved ones is what keeps me going despite stress.

The last few weeks were tough weeks, but they are also the weeks that I was able to strengthen my faith. I had to call to God each time (heheh!). Its funny but it is true. We become better Christians during tough moments because we get to realize the human frailty and the divinity of God over us. In the same vein, the tough moments in our lives drive us closer to our family and friends. We realize that we need them and it is not selfish to remember our family and friends in times of need, rather it is self-giving because we recognize their value in our life and we allow them to fulfill their purpose, which is to show love through us.

Every step is a step closer to my dreams, to my loved ones, to the fulfillment of my purpose. I am not saying it is easy, but it is possible. If we focus, know our priorities, set our heart to it, and set God at the center of it all, there is nothing we can’t do. I am not sure if I can finish the race like this, but as far as I can, then I’ll do it. And most importantly, it is all for the greater glory of God.

‘Despite’ vs. ‘Inspite of’

On a legal writing class, a classmate of mine had a debate with our ‘judge’ professor regarding the proper use of the words despite and inspite of. Of course my classmate lost the debate in class since he had to submit to the judge’s ruling (hehe!) but he can’t just get over the issue so he posted in our block’s yahoogroups an article explaining the difference between the two words, and here it goes…

“The difference between the two expressions has to do with the way the set of circumstances preceding an event is related to what follows the event. An example or two will make the point clear. 1. In spite of a good monsoon prices have not come down. 2. Despite a heavy downpour, thousands turned up to hear the Prime Minister.

In both the cases, given the preceding situation, what happens is surprising. This is what is shared by the two expressions and this is what has prompted dictionary makers to treat them as synonymous and gloss one in terms of the other.

But there is a difference. In (1) the preceding situation was such as to ensure (or make likely) a positive outcome. But this did not happen. The monsoon was good but prices did not come down. In (2) the situation preceding is such as to suggest a negative outcome. But what actually happened is something positive. A heavy downpour should keep people away. But thousands turned up to hear the Prime Minister.”

This might get handy later on in life…so the lesson is: “Don’t argue with a judge, (you’ll never win) especially when she is your professor!” heheheh…cheers!

Below is a list of the different Holidays for the year of 2008. Take note that some of these holidays are moved on a Monday, in pursuant to Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s RA 9242 also known as “Holiday Economic Policy“.

January 1 – New Year’s Day
March 20 – Maundy Thursday

April 7 – Araw ng Kagitingan (in lieu of April 9)
May 5 – Labor Day (in lieu of May 1)
June 16 – Independence Day (in lieu of June 12)
August 25 – Ninoy Aquino Day (in lieu of August 21)

So I dont get double pay or at least a pay without work for said holidays because of the said schedule and policy. hehehe.

ODB for today…

Last Christmas, while wrapping some gifts for family and friends, my mom gave me 3 Our Daily Bread booklets to wrap, for just-in-case gift giving. I wrapped it but at the end of the celebration, it remain there, lying under our Christmas tree. Well, my curiosity aroused me to open up one for myself and I began to read it each day starting Jan. 1, 2008. I read it every morning before I start my work and it feels nice good.

So I just want to share today’s topic. It is about waiting (patiently)…

“[Abraham] believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness. — Genesis 15:6

Any mother can tell you that waiting to give birth is an experience that builds patience. But pity the poor mother elephant. It takes about 22 months for an unborn elephant to mature to birth! The shark known as the spiny dogfish has a pregnancy duration of 22-24 months. And at elevations above 4,600 feet, the Alpine salamander endures a gestational period of up to 38 months!

Abraham could have identified with these examples from nature. In his old age, the Lord made a promise to him: “I will make you a great nation (Gen. 12:2). But as the years passed, Abraham questioned how the fulfillment of the promise was possible without even the basic building block of a son (15:2). So God assured him, “One who will come from your own body shall be your heir (v. 4).

Despite his advanced age, Abraham believed God and was called righteous (v. 6). Yet he waited 25 years from the time of the initial promise for Isaac to be born (17:1,17).

Waiting for God’s promises to be fulfilled is part of trusting Him. No matter how long the delay, we must wait for Him. As the writer of Hebrews reminds us, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful (Heb. 10:23). — Marvin Williams

Not so in haste, my heart!
Have faith in God, and wait;
Although He seems to linger long,
He never comes too late. — Torrey”

God always performs what He promises.

MACBOOK PRO STOLEN on CHRISTMAS! 40K REWARD

(I’m posting this to help the victim..to what’s the least that I can do)

STOLEN: Macbook Pro 2.4GHZ, 2GB RAM, 120GB HDD – SERIAL # W8732099X92
WHEN: DEC.23,2007
WHERE: Tagaytay City
REWARD: P40,000 for recovery and information leading to recovery
CONTACT: MARK DE LOS REYES, 0917-893-2392

My sister’s Macbook Pro laptop was stolen last DEC. 23 from our home in Tagaytay. Someone had taken her laptop from a table inside our house while it was charging. Charger, and case were taken as well. My sister is supposed to graduate this coming year and all her work files were in that computer. (my christmas gift to her was an external hdd for her to back up her files, but unfortunately the laptop was stolen before she could use it.) Her thesis and a lot of her design work remains inside, so the laptop’s contents are more valuable to us than the actual laptop. The computer is passworded, so it is likely that the person who has it will bring it to a store or shop to have the hard disk reformatted.

Please spread the word among technicians and other apple stores so that this laptop may be found soon. My sister’s career depends on it.

Hopefully we can all still have a happy new year.
