Grooming Products to Definitely Change your Life..
ALARMING FINDING: The National Institutes of Health researchers recently found out that certain grooming products can lower the level of testosterone and increase the risk of heart disease, erectile dysfunction, and BOOBS!
The National Institutes of Health conducted a study among young men with breast-tissue development and they discovered that each had been subject to use of lotion, soap, shampoo, or other grooming/vanity products with lavander and/or tea-tree oil. The oils were found to increase the estrogen (female hormone) and decrease androgens (male hormones).
So for the metrosexuals out there, who simply wants good grooming and nothing more…like extra boobs…beware! But no need to panic, if you want to prevent this, just quit lathering up and all side effects will automatically disappear in a few months. On the other hand, this may sound as a good news for gays out there. This is a cheaper way of getting that hump on the chest.

Health & Fitness Facts Everyone Must Know
Fitness Fact 1. Studies have suggested that walking at a brisk pace for three or more hours a week can reduce your risk for coronary heart disease by 65 percent.
Fitness Fact 2. About 25 percent of American adults — and an even greater percentage of women — are sedentary. After age 44, upwards of 30 percent of women are sedentary, and by age 65, the proportion increases to almost 35 percent. By the time they reach age 75, about 50 percent of all women are sedentary.
Fitness Fact 3. Only about 22 percent of American adults engage in regular, sustained physical activity for at least 30 minutes five times a week, and only 15 percent exercise both regularly and vigorously.
Fitness Fact 4. No matter how poor your current level of fitness, you can start an exercise routine and become fitter and healthier. Even 90-year-old women who use walkers have been shown in studies to benefit from light weight training.
Fitness Fact 5. Simply adding movement into your daily routine can increase your level of fitness. For example, if you park in the last row of the parking lot and walk briskly five minutes each way between your office and your car, walk up and down the stairs at your office during your 10-minute afternoon coffee break, and walk the dog for 10 minutes when you get home, you’ve racked up 30 minutes of exercise for the day.
Fitness Fact 6. Women with heart disease or arthritis actually experience improved daily function from involvement in various modes of physical activity.
Fitness Fact 7. Fitness consists of four components: your body’s ability to use oxygen as a source of energy, which translates into cardiovascular fitness; muscular strength and endurance; flexibility; and body composition.
Fitness Fact 8. To address all the components of fitness, an exercise program needs to include aerobic exercise, which is continuous repetitive movement of large muscle groups that raises your heart rate; weight lifting or strength training; and flexibility exercises or stretching.
Fitness Fact 9. Walking at a brisk pace (a 15-minute mile or 4 mph) burns almost as many calories as jogging for the same distance. The benefit of jogging is that it takes less time to cover the same distance and it benefits the bones; however, it may be too strenuous for some.
Fitness Fact 10. It takes about 12 weeks after starting an exercise program to see measurable changes in your body. However, before 12 weeks, you will notice an increase in your strength and endurance.

How your brain copes from a traumatic event
Scientists have studied how our brains process tragedy — and they think dreams may play a role. This conclusion was derived from the experiences of the people recovering from the 9/11 event .
They found out that the more people watch the TV coverage of the planes crashing as the two towers fall, the more they are inclined to get nightmares. And the longer time they need to adjust and cope up. But here is the funny twist, the more you keep on talking about the event, the faster you recover from the experience. Well, this is explained with the fact that one gets to release traumatic emotion while talking about it.
So here is the lesson: If for example, one night, you had a terrible sexual partner. To move on from the experience, stop watching hardcore porn for a while and just start talking to people about how bad he/she is in bed. And soon you’ll see yourself fully-recovered and as if nothing happened. LOL. ^_^

The Facts on Fats

Saturated, monounsaturated, trans and poly. Are you confused yet? You may be even if you’ve been keeping up on what types of fat to eat and which to shun. By now you’ve probably heard of stealthy trans-fats. If they’re not on the “Nutrition Facts” panel yet, they’re soon to arrive.Trans-fats are sinister because like saturated fat, they raise total cholesterol and LDL, the “bad” cholesterol levels. Trans-fats lower levels of beneficial, HDL cholesterol in the body. Also, consumption of trans-fats may inhibit the absorption of healthy fats that are necessary for the growth and functioning of vital organs. Though much has been made about the dangers of trans-fats, experts caution that those warnings shouldn’t overshadow the potentially disastrous effects of saturated fats. Medical expert Dr. Andrea Pennington states that saturated fats “…increase your cholesterol levels, which can lead to clogged arteries, heart attacks, strokes and obesity.”
Before we go any further, let’s take a closer look at the different types of fats:
- Monounsaturated: These “good” fats are found mainly in plant sources, like nuts, avocados and olive, peanut and canola oils. They are liquid at room temperature.
- Polyunsaturated: These fats, which include the healthy omega-3 fatty acids, are also found in plant oils such as safflower, sunflower, corn, flaxseed and canola oils, as well as in seafood. Polyunsaturated fats are either liquid or soft at room temperature. Essential fatty acids — alpha-linolenic and linoleic acid — are also in the polyunsaturated group. These fats, which we need to get from the foods we eat, are necessary for the creation of cell walls and hormones in the body.
- Saturated: These fats are found mostly in animal products. Red meat, poultry, cheese, butter and other dairy products are the main sources. Some plant products like palm, coconut and palm kernel oil are also saturated. These fats are solid at room temperature.
- Trans-: This type of fat is formed when unsaturated vegetable oils are hydrogenated (or partially hydrogenated) to form solid, more stable fats. Hydrogen atoms are actually added to the oils. Trans-fats include margarine and shortening and are found in everything from crackers, cookies, doughnuts, frozen pie crusts, deep-fried foods, and foods with chocolate coatings.
Butter vs. Margarine
This debate has raged on for years. If you’re looking for a healthy morning spread, avoid stick margarine. Choose a light, soft margarine or butter substitute that says “trans-fat free” on the package. Butter lovers should use it sparingly to cut down on saturated fat.
Trimming the Fat
- Keep your total fat intake to around 30 percent of your total calorie intake
- Limit saturated fat intake to no more than 7 to 10 percent of your intake
- Get about 10 to 15 percent of total calories from monounsaturated fats
- About 10 percent of calories should come from polyunsaturated fats
For an individual eating 2,000 calories a day this translates to 66 grams of total fat and no more than 16 to 22 grams of saturated fat per day. Though the Nutrition Facts label won’t be listing trans fats until January 2006, it’s best to steer clear from foods containing them.
What’s the bottom line? At 9 calories per gram, fats are our most caloric energy source, so we need to keep track of how much we’re eating, no matter what type. Still, you’ll improve your health greatly by eating more monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, including omega-3 fatty acids. Make an effort to cut back on saturated fats and try to avoid trans-fats.
How can you scout the supermarket aisles for products with trans-fats since they’re not yet on food labels? Look for the words “hydrogenated” and “partially hydrogenated” and steer clear of these products.

Never, put your banana in the refrigerator!!!
This is interesting. After reading this, you’ll never look at a banana in the same way again.
Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.
Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world’s leading athletes.
But energy isn’t the only way a banana can help us keep fit.

It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.
Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.
PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.
Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.
Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit’s ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.
Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.
Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.
Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.
Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.
Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.
Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.
Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.
Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.
Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.
Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a “cooling” fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.
Smoking & Tobacco Use: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassiu! m and ma gnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.
Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body’s water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.
